With its distinctive personalities of the characters, ups and downs of the story plots, magnificent momentum, and superb interpretation, it received unanimous praise from domestic well-known experts and scholars and people from the capital. The play is based on a true story of Zhao Ergu Case happened in Yuci at the Second Year of Dao Guang Period, Qing Dynasty: taking the story of “Liang Zhongjing, the Supervisory Censor who born in Xiamen, Lingshi County, Shanxi Province, was ordered to go back to Jin (now Shanxi Province) for inspection, who was not afraid of bigwigs, against all odds to enforce the law impartially, and pleaded the cause of the people” as the main story line, it successfully shaped an image of an honest and upright official in ancient time, who was devoted to the people, not afraid of the powerful and noble, honest and upright, and dared to speak out. Since the end of 2017, the play has undergone many discussions and changes. It has been performed in public for more than 80 times in other provinces and cities, and received a warm response from the society.
